Offerings in Sessio

Sessio · Updated October 31, 2026

Offerings are what you sell and what each one costs: your Discovery call, your single session rate, and any packages of sessions. Set them up in Settings, then Offerings. When you assign a package to a client, Sessio bills for it once, up front, and counts each session the package covers. A single session is billed after it happens, as it always has been. A free Discovery call is never billed.

Your two defaults

Every account starts with two offerings, marked Default. Discovery call is a free 30-minute call. Coaching session is your single session, priced at your default rate. You can edit both, but you can’t archive or delete them.

The Coaching session price is your default session rate. A new client starts with that rate, and Settings, then Sessions, shows it with Edit in Offerings beside it. A client’s own rate, on their profile, always comes first. Changing the default doesn’t change the rate of clients you already have.

Creating offerings

Choose New offering, or the add row under Discovery or 1:1 coaching, and pick a type. A Discovery call can be free or paid. A 1:1 offering is either a single session or a package. You can have as many of each as you like, for example a 6-session package, an 8-session package, and a 90-minute intensive.

A package needs a name, a number of sessions, a session length, and a price for the whole package. As you type, Sessio shows what each session works out to and how much the client saves compared with buying single sessions. You can also set the package to expire 3, 6, or 12 months after it starts, and add a short description. Payment is in full for now. Installments are coming.

Available to assign hides an offering from the list you assign from, without archiving it. Packages show in Offerings with how many clients have them active.

Assigning a package

Open the client’s profile and choose Add package on the Offerings card. Pick a package, and its sessions and price fill in. You can change either one for this client alone, for example a ninth session at no extra cost, or a lower price for a returning client. The package is then marked Adjusted, with its standard terms shown beside it. What the client pays is the adjusted price.

Set the start date and, if you like, an expiry and a private note. If the client already has a package with sessions left, Sessio says so. You can still assign another.

How the client pays for a package

When a package costs more than $0, Create invoice is on. The invoice is for the whole package, named for it, for example Career Clarity: 6-session package, and it appears in Billing as Pending, due on the date you choose. A $0 package has no invoice.

If you’ve connected Stripe in Settings, then Client Payments, you can also choose Include a payment link. The client’s payment page then shows the package name and the amount. The link goes on the invoice, and in the message when you send the invoice to the client. Leave it off, and nothing the client receives mentions Stripe. They can pay you another way, and you mark the invoice paid in Billing.

Counts toward

When you schedule a session, Counts toward says what the session is for. The list shows the client’s packages that still have sessions left, then your single sessions at the client’s rate, then your Discovery calls. It starts on the package that expires soonest, or on Coaching session if the client has no package. A prospect starts on Discovery call.

Choosing a Discovery call sets the session type to Discovery and the length to the call’s length, unless you’ve already changed them. If the date is after the package expires, Sessio tells you. If you book a weekly series with more sessions than the package has left, Sessio tells you how many will count toward it. The sessions after that are billed as single sessions at the client’s rate.

The same choice appears when you start a session that wasn’t scheduled, and in the Next session step at the end of a session. You can change it when you reschedule. In the Calendar, a package session shows the package name instead of a price, and a free session shows Free.

How sessions are counted

A completed session uses one session from the package. A scheduled session holds one, so the package can’t be overbooked. Cancelling or removing a session gives it back. The Offerings card on the profile shows each package as used, scheduled, and left, with a bar, the expiry date, and whether the invoice is paid.

During a package session, the timer and sidebar show which session it is, for example Session 3 of 6, Career Clarity. A session that isn’t part of a package shows its number and what it is, such as Session 12, Coaching session.

What the end of a session does with payment

A session from a package creates no invoice, because the package is already billed, and wrap-up doesn’t offer a payment link. A free Discovery call works the same way. Any session priced at $0 creates no invoice.

A single session, or a paid Discovery call, creates one Pending invoice for that session, due 14 days later, at the client’s rate or the offering’s price. Wrap-up offers a payment link for it when Stripe is connected. Marking a session completed from the Calendar, or logging a past session, follows the same rule, without the payment link.

Wrap-up also looks ahead. It tells you when one session is left, when that was the last session in the package, or when the package expires soon with sessions still unused. After the last session, Next session switches to a single session, and Assign a package opens once wrap-up is saved.

Changing or ending a package

After a package is assigned, you can change its expiry date and note from the profile. To end it early, choose Cancel package. Sessions already used stay on record, and the package moves to Past packages. The invoice isn’t changed. Void it or refund it from Billing if you need to. Completed and expired packages move to Past packages on their own.

Editing an offering in Settings changes it for clients you assign it to from then on. Clients who already have it keep the terms they were given. Once an offering has been assigned, it can be archived but not deleted, so its history stays intact. Restore brings an archived offering back.

Prospects and Discovery calls

Add someone as a Prospect when you’ve booked a Discovery call but aren’t working together yet. Prospects have their own tab in Clients. After a Discovery call with a prospect, wrap-up asks whether you’re ready to work with them. Mark as client moves them to Active and offers Assign a package. You can also mark a prospect as a client from their profile at any time.

Coaching hours

Hours logging doesn’t depend on billing. A session counts toward your hours when its hours setting is on, whether it came from a package, was a single session, or was a free Discovery call.
